Grades of Jade
Jades are divided into three types, namely types A, B, and C, based on the treatment during the manufacturing process. The categorization does not address the quality parameters of the stone.
Type A jade is natural and free from any form of chemical treatment. This jade is finely polished and coated in colourless wax.
The coating fills in any minute fractures, smoothing out any irregularities for a lustrous surface.
Type A jades are the most exclusive grade of jades. The vibrant hue of these premium jades will last a lifetime.
Type B jade has been chemically treated and resin infused. Type C jade has dyed colouring added to the resin and the dye may eventually discolour.
